Mail Outgoing Server Port

Hi,

I am using Mail on my MacBook Air running OS Sierra 10.12.6 and recently it's been struggling to send mail when the "automatically manage your connection settings" is checked.

I spoke with my IT department and they advised that the outgoing mail port is specific so I unchecked that box, changed the port and saved the settings.....it verified and all worked.  When my MacBook goes to sleep or is shut down however, Mail seems to forget the port settings and reverts to a default port which won't work when it's woken or started up again.

Is there any way to get it to permanently save the port I need to use?
