logic board replacement question

   I have a 2016 MBP 13" that is not turning on. The other day i was using it and it started to die (battery went to 0% and the computer kept turning off and on). Now the computer wont turn on. I tried replacing the USB-C charging cable as well as the power adapter with no luck. I am suspecting that Apple will have to replace my motherboard when I go to my Genius Bar appointment. If my motherboard is being replaced, will all my settings be wiped clean? Also will my hard drive be wiped clean?

They won’t automatically be deleted(except for a very small number of settings), but the people there may erase the drive. Back up your data first.

If it does get replaced, some commercial software may refuse to run afterwards.

Sometimes they wipe the drive, sometimes they don't. Prepare by thinking they're going to erase it. Backup at least once, preferably twice so you actually have a backup, not just one copy of your data should they erase it.
