external bluetooth adapter

hi! i have an iMac 2010 mid 21,5 inch. Its bluetooth function does not work anymore. I reinstalled even OsX High Sierra but it did not work. So I think this is an hardwire problem about the internal bluetooth card. Well I bought an external bluetooth adapter. the bluetooth adapter works well after I logging in but it does not work on the login screen. so I need a wired keyboard to log in.. is there anything I can do? can I deactivate the internal bluetooth module and choose the external adapter as primary one?
