What Generation is the newest ipod touch(2011)?

A 4G, same as the 2010 release.

It is 5G; 4G is last year's. They just added the white color to it.

Making a change to the family grants the new product a newer generation name.

This is not true at all.  There is NO 5g ipod touch at all.

There was no new ipod touch this year, only a new color for the same ipod touch 4th gen.

The iPod Touch 4th Generation was released in 2011. However, the current newest model (as of 2017) is the iPod Touch 6th Generation. It was released in 2015.

You do realize you are responding to a question posted in 2011, in a thread that last had activity in 2012.

When the question was asked the 4th gen was in fact the newest iPod available.

Ok, my bad. There is no need to get angry, I answered the question with two answers: the current model now and the current model in 2011.

Not angry, just pointing out a fact.

One way or the other, I found coltrv's reply helpful since it's now 2017
