Printer Problem:  "Printing.  Looking...

I have a 2017 Mac Book Pro Retina 15 running Mac Sierra version10.12.6.  Because I work in several different locations, I have the following printers installed:

HP 402

Epson 440

Epson 3620

Epson 3755

Konica Minolta C458

At every location I frequently encounter a problem printing.  I select the appropriate location related printer, and the print que pop-up reveals that the printer is: Printing. Looking for printer . . . .  At this point, I cannot print.  I've tried turning off the printer and re-starting, rebooting the router, and re-starting the computer.  Sometimes this works.  In any event, this problem is a significant distraction.

I've experienced this problem at several different stages - sometimes when it is the first print job, sometimes right after I just printed to the printer.  I've checked the printers to insure that the Mac Book and printer were (a) connected to a wireless network, and (b) connected to the same wireless network.  In every instance, they were.

At first, I though the problem was printer related.  I researched the problem as to each manufacturer.  Most solutions dealt with making sure the printer was connected to the network.  Given the number and variety of printers I use, this didn't seem to be the problem source.  Then I suspected a router issue but ruled that out because the problem happened on different routers.

The only common thread to every instance of this problem is my Mac Book Pro and the operating system.  Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
