Major trouble since updating to the new iTunes

Ever since I foolishly installed the latest version of iTunes (which is TERRIBLE), I cannot import my music to my iPod Touch (some tracks no longer sync) & iTunes cancels the sync on me. I have already restored the iPod and that failed to work. This is the case for music I have bought on iTunes, burned from CD's, and have downloaded online. I hope there will be a fix soon. Any reliable suggestions?
