How to watch "Murmurs Of Earth" a 1992 CD

Mac Mini (Late 2012) - Processor 2.3GHz Intel Core i7 - Memory 16Gb 1600Mhz DDR3 - OSX El Capitan 10.11.6

Pioneer BD-RW BDR-206D

I have a copy of the original 1992 "Murmurs Of Earth - The Voyager Interstellar Record".

Track 1 of Disc 1 is CD-ROM data. I cannot get it to play.

The rest of the CD is music which I can play.

The cover states: "CD-ROM Data: All 116 color images included in the Voyager Record. This unique multi-platform program will run on either IBM 286 compatible or Macintosh® II series or LC".

The booklet contains the following: To view the photos on a Macintosh, open the folder named MAC_MURMURS and then open the application named MURMURS OF EARTH. The disc is in the ISO 9660 format ...... In order to read discs in the ISO format, the Macintosh requires that "ForiegnFile Access" and "ISO 9660 Access" be installed in the System folder, in addition to the CD-ROM driver.

When I insert the CD-ROM disc into my Pioneer BD-RW BDR-206D the disc mounts on the desktop.

There are 2 icons. One for the CD-ROM Data and one of the music. iTunes sees the music etc.

I click on the Murmurs Icon and it opens a window containing the MAC and WINDOWS folders.

I click on the MAC_MURMURS folder. This displays a DATA folder which dispalys as empty when I click on it.

If I click on the PC folder it shows 3 files; GRASPRT.EXE; MURMURS.BAT and MURMURS.GL.

I've gone online and looked around to see what I could find; but couldn't locate anything relating to how to get a CD-ROM from 1992 to play on a 2012 Mac Mini running El Capitan. I'm not sure if its just impossible or if I'm missing drivers and or the files mentioned above. I would have thought this would have been backwards compatable.

Is anyone able to assist?

Thanks in advance.
