Ipad disabled. Please connect to itunes

I keep getting this, but when i connect it to my macbook, i get "iTunes could not connect to this iPad. The value is missing." Is there anyway around this without losing the data on the ipad?

Your profile shows that you are running iOS 10.3.3. If that is correct, you need to be running OS X 10.9.5 on the Mac and iTunes 12.5 at minimum. If you updated to iOS 11, you need OS X 10.10.5 on the Mac and iTunes 12.7.

Do you meet these requirements?

On the macbook i have 10.13 beta

on the ipad i can't remember, but it was at least the latest version of ios 10
