I have inherited an almost new iPad 4

My father passed away from Adrenal Cancer back in November 2016; he left a very simple will dividing his assets between his three daughters....
I am his eldest daughter, and I was unlucky enough to inherit his almost brand new iPad 4 which is now a useless paperweight. My husband has had nothing but helpful service from Apple, as he wanted to reset the iPad so that he could use it, and Apple employees are behaving like perfect little drones who will not deviate from the excessive corporate rules! They must be really working in an atmosphere of fear and oppression over there!!
So far they have demanded to see my father's death certificate, we complied and sent it to them. Than, foolishly thinking that was all they would demand they needed to know where my father had bought the iPad, including the receipt!!!
HELLO!!! My father was in his late 70's, all of us are grown up with families of our own! How the **** would we know where he bought it???    
Than they demanded a copy of the will.... we told them that there was no will legally saying what was to go to who.... So then they wanted a letter from my father's lawyers saying that I had inherited his iPad, and that I was the new legal owner.....
Even with THAT INFORMATION they are demanding that if there is no will they want another letter from my father's lawyers that there was no will and they again want them to sign a from that I am the legal owner - basically the same information we have already supplied!!!
When my husband protested he was told that they take privacy very seriously.... who cares??? My father is DEAD!!!

NEVER in my entire life have I seen such an appalling customer service help!!! My husband requested that he wished a letter in writing that THIS TIME it will be the last thing they will demand of us.... naturally they were unwilling to do that!!!

I now have a completely useless iPad which might as well be a really expensive paper weight!!! I find it such a pity that recently I was given an brand new iPad 4 as a gift; because I would have requested something that had nothing to do with the Apple brand as from now on our family will never buy anything from Apple ever again!!!~

Thank you Apple! For being the worst service provider I have ever come up against!
