How to change the iCloud account on my iPad

Hi, I am trying to change the iCloud account on my iPad from my husband's to mine.  If I delete his account is it going to effect the data in his iCloud account?  Or will it just take it off this device and not his iPhone?

Go to Settings>icloud, scroll to bottom of screen and tap Delete Account.  Then log in using a different ID.

THis will remove Apple data from the device but not from icloud or other devices logged into the old account.

It's the latter that will happen.  You can choose to delete all sync information from your iPad and it won't affect his iCloud account and the synced iCloud information on his iPhone.

I tried that at it won't delete ??

I don't remember password for old Apple ID

It won't just delete the iCloud or sign out??
