How do you determine if an app has update if it...

With iTunes 12.7 removing app store how do you determine apps that you own have received updates but are not installed on your iOS device?

The Updates tab of the iOS App Store will show any updates for apps on your device.  You can press the Update or "Update All" button to install the updates.  For apps not installed, the Purchased button will show the latest version numbers.

You can enable automatic update downloads in:

Settings > iTunes & App Store > Updates

Thanks, I understand that, but the scenario I was thinking of was: You've purchased and installed an app on your device and then remove it for reasons like errors or not having features. Then months later that app gets an update that addresses your previous reasons for removing it. In pre iTunes 12.7 you would see the updated app, on your iOS device  you don't know its been updated, Hope I making myself clear

In the iOS App Store > Updates (far right at bottom) 'Purchased' at the top of the screen has a right arrow at its right. From the screen which follows, you can either update All or (those apps which are) 'Not on This [Device]'.
