Unable to uninstall j5create software

I'm trying to uninstall/remove the j5create ultrastation 500 display dock drivers from my new macbook pro so I can use a Thinkpad displaylink dock. There are compatibility issues between j5create drivers and Displaylink drivers. The displaylink site has instructions of how to do this for a windows machine but not for a mac.

https://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=359

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Prasant

Answer from j5create support:

Please disconnect the display adapter from your computer.

Can you uninstall the driver using the following instructions?
1. Press Command Key(⌘) + Shift + C
2. Select "Macintosh HD".
3. Select "System".
4. Select "Library".
5. Select "Extensions".
6. Find the following: "MCT_trigger2.kext" and/or "Trigger5Core.kext" and/or "triggers.kext".
7. If any of these three files exist, drag them to the trashcan.
8. Reboot your computer and reinstall the driver from our website.

triggers.kext is the only one that existed on my Mac and OS told me it was required and couldn't be deleted.

You should be able to drag it to the Trash, but it is part of the running system. So you cannot delete it until after a Restart.

I have this same problem i restartes and still get the same error message

Did you succeed in dragging those extensions TO the Trash?

if so, after the next Restart, they will not be loaded as part of MacOS, and you should be able to Empty the Trash to remove them forever.

I restarted, and "triggers.kext" can't be deleted.  I restarted in Safe Mode and "triggers.kext" can't be deleted.

Granted, I'm running the High Sierra GM Beta...  So I can't boot in Target Mode and have another computer view the contents of this SSD because I formatted this SSD as APFS.

So I'm stuck until there's either an official uninstaller, or the consumer version of High Sierra becomes available, or there's an update to the j5Create driver (JUA350) that automatically removes old versions.  Personally, I think anyone writing system extensions should include a took for removing their own extensions.  But that's JMHO.
