I think you will find that Snow Leopard 10.6.8 is incompatible with an iOS phone 7.

Thinking a bit further, exactly what version MBP are you using. A mid 2007? Perhaps it could be upgraded to El Capitan 10.11.6. and link via iTunes. That could make a difference. I think we should wait for other opinions.
