Can I use Alcohol Swabs on My MacBook?

For the past couple months, my MacBook Pro has gotten dirt and I have cleaned it, but I never have had a good solution to make them fingerprint-free. I recently went to the Apple Store to have my AirPods cleaned, and they gave  me some non-alcohol wipes to use. We recently got a box of alcohol sterilizing swabs, and can I use them on my MacBook Pro without hurting it? Thanks!

This is a very difficult question.   No one would want to cause you loss but that is exactly what could happen.     How old is the machine?     Can you afford to lose it?     Are you technically competent?

The main point is that liquid in any form and electronics just dont mix and swabs with some pressure could exude liquid.   A microfibre cloth slightly damp would be as good as anything for surface cleaning and once you have turned off / disconnected the machine this guidance from Apple does help.
