Apps list

Hi. I have 3 devices that I sync to iTunes. Previously there was an apps list that showed the ones for iPhone and ipad and allowed you to simply remove or re-add.  Is there any easy way to see this anymore?  The idea of going to your account and looking through all your apps (in my case 18 pages) to find what you want is a ridiculous backward way of doing things.  I also had set an indicator to automatically propagate new apps to all my devices.  How do I do that now?  Also are the apps backed up when you sync to iTunes? I normally keep everything up to date and sync often but now I am confused as to what I should be doing.  I worked in the computer industry for years and this application change is about the most backward and complicated change I have ever seen. At very least is there a comprehensive document that describes what used to happen and how to do that in the new unimproved way?  The documents I have reviewed don't seem to relate well to the simple plug it in and let it sync everything so that all devices have the ability to use the same data. As you can tell I am totally unimpressed with this change. Any help to make this easier would be appreciated.

Thanks Doug

Management of apps, books, and tones has been removed from iTunes 12.7. See Changes in the new iTunes - Apple Support for details. The intention is clearly that all management takes place on the device.

See the Manually add items from your computer section of Manually manage content on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iTunes - Apple Support for the control that remains. This can be used to copy apps, ePubs, iBooks, PDFs, and tones from your computer to your device. The File Sharing feature for copying data between apps and the computer is still there. You can also use iCloud Drive, Dropbox, or other cloud services to move content to the device.
