Apps not showing in itunes (with or w/o phone c...

Recently updated to iTunes 12.7.0.166 on Macbook OS X El Capitan v.10.11.6 and now APPS are not showing up when phone is connected OR not connected. The entire section is gone. I looked under 'View', 'Preferences', 'Options' but don't see anything related. Any ideas?

Possibly related to this issue: My 32gb iPhone 6S was previously showing only 4gb of free space left.... now all of a sudden it shows almost 16gb free. The apps ARE showing on my phone and are usable.
