add email accounts to icloud mail account

Does anyone know how to add my earthlink and gmail accounts to icloud?

You can't, you can only use the iCloud email with iCloud. Add your 3rd party addresses to Mail as other accounts.

oh, thank you for the answer.  This is where I'm stuck.  I have done that on all my devices--but on the web application of icloud (on my mac mini), I can't seem to do that.  I have the latest OS, but not sure what I'm missing--i.e. can't find the path to add the accounts.

If you are referring to iCloud.com, you won't be able to see 3rd party mail accounts there, you can only see what's in iCloud through the web portal.

well, that explains that.   

So I'm missing it somewhere else, because all my email accounts are present on my other devices.  Is there a setting in OSX that I'm missing?

You can add your 3rd party email addresses to the Mail application on your Mac in just the same way as you add them on your devices, it's just the iCloud.com website where you can only use iCloud email.

Well that is a poor design.  It basically makes the web portal unusable.  I use macs at home, and as much as possible, but at work I'm still tied to a PC for the time being.  I like all my e-mail in one place.  Gmail unfortunatley gives me that power; although I'd prefer to use iCloud.  This needs to be fixed.

I agree.  The ability to use 3rd party mail accounts at icloud.com should definitely be possible.  I assumed my accounts would all be there when I logged in the first time, only to see it was just my icloud mail account...  Which I do not use for email.

So how does a 'Mail' user access email from web or remote?  Its hard to believe that Apple won't allow access to Mail remotely.  Do I have to leave Mail and go to a web based email program like Gmail?

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

Please start your own discussion since your problem is different. Trying to answer several problems in one discussion gets confusing for everyone. A new post would be much more visible.

Go to iCloud.com and select Settings. When that page loads, look at the bottom left side under Advanced and see if you can restore from there.

I agree. I am used to Apple being ahead of the curve with functionality such as this. I'd much rather continue within the Apple universe, but this leaves users with no other choice but to use a service such as Google. Come on Apple.
