Dock keeps freezing

Hello all,

Ever since downloading Sierra my dock keeps on freezing, like you know where a program is open there will be a little circle under it in the dock? Well mine doesn't do that anymore, and when I right click for instance Safari it says 'Open' while it's already opened. I restarted the computer but know the icons on the desktop don't even show up?

Can someone please help me.

Try booting into Safe Mode: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262 and see if the issue persists there.
