Apple Watch 3 LTE Activation on AT&T

I received my new Apple Watch 3 LTE today and tried to set up the cellular service with AT&T an it was by far the worst experience ever. It took over 3 calls, 2 transfers and 2 hours later and i still don't have service. The service rep blamed Apple stating that the EID numbers on the box of the watch didn't match up with the numbers given to AT&T. They said that they are working on the issue with Apple to get it resolved. They said I should call back tomorrow afternoon to see if it can be activated. This is unacceptable! The only reason why i purchased the watch is becuase of the LTE functionality that I CANNOT USE! Now I have to keep calling AT&T (which is a huge time suck) to see if it can be activated.  I don't know who's at fault, but i consider this release a complete failure!  I pray to god that this doesn't happen with the iPhone X release!
