Does your iCloud Drive upload zero size (length...

Hi,

If in my iCloud Drive folder I create a zero length file like "New text document.txt", it is skipped and never gets uploaded to iCloud.com no matter if I re-name it or copy it or move it to a different subfolder within iCloud Drive folder. However, if I open it in Notepad and write at least one letter to the file, making its size bigger than zero, it gets uploaded to right away. The issue is that in some cases like in software programming even zero size files can be important, so this should not be this way.

Another issue is that my archiving software Cobian Backup 11 creates its archives as a zero length files initially, and because it blocks them at the moment, iCloud just ignores them forever, and it does not upload them even when Cobian Backup 11 finishes the compressing, writes it all to the file making its size bigger than zero, and releasing the lock -- it is just too late for iCloud Drive to care. The only way to force iCloud Drive to seriously rescan the folder and compare it to the iCloud.com is to restart the PC/kill-and-restart iCloud Drive process -- then only it "suddenly" finds all of the new archive files it has skipped while they were appearing in real time.

So my question is, if you will try to create a zero size file like "New text document.txt", will it get uploaded to iCloud.com? I am trying to understand if this glitch is only my issue or it is a general issue that is not known/addressed simply because it is of importance to very few people.

Thank you in advance.
