I have a new Macbook Pro 15 with touch bar (2017), and I also use the Touch ID to unlock the macbook.

However - when working, I work with a large external screen (and mouse and keyboard) - so I close the lid of the macbook.

When the macbook goes to sleep, or the screensaver is on - when I want to open the macbook, the lock screen

requires me to use Touch ID even when the lid is closed. There is no option to enter the password - this is very annoying since the lid is closed and the macbook is tucked away.

Is there a way to allow both password & Touch ID, when unlocking from sleep/screensaver?

Yes. Run with the MacBook Open.

The additional screen and the internal keyboard will also be available.
