How do I get text message notification sounds f...

When the Apple Watch is on and working I cannot find a way to set the notifications to sound from my phone. I often ride my bike while listening to a podcast on my phone via Bluetooth—no matter how high I set the haptic feedback, the road is usually too bumpy for me to feel the watch vibrate, or hear the notifications sound from the watch, and I am therefore unaware I have a text message. Also, I have selected many customized ringtones and sounds for my contacts that I would not hear from my watch. I’ve been on several message boards trying to find a solution to this (as many other watch users report the same frustration, and have been for years, it looks like), but I have not yet found a workaround. A software update or adequate solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
