How to ensure messages etc are completely deleted?
I want to ensure messages shared with someone are not going to pop up. They are deleted from the phone. User has checked iTunes back ups and don’t seem to have any and don’t tend to plug phone in.
User has checked messages app on Mac. I instructed them to delete any conversations and also the I.chat files. User advised that there were no conversations. They deleted chat files but these were 4kb so nothing of note. User advised their Apple ID wasn’t under accounts on Mac sk seems their account isn’t synced?
Finally, user has turned back up off for iCloud. I don’t know whether they deleted any back ups before turning off. If they deleted historic back ups would this mean that any texts were well and truly gone?
Couple of other things. Not sure if user used family sharing. I understand that this is for purchases and especially useful with children and controlling app purchases. Assume iMessages are not visible to any members of family sharing? And whilst pictures are, they have to be manually added to a shared folder?
What about iCloud space, is this shared under a new Apple ID and would it apply to iMessages? (Under family sharing function, not regular iCloud)
If user had iCloud back up off but photo library on, pictures would only be “backed up” if they were in users camera roll I believe? For this to be the case, user must have taken pictures themselves, saved them or they auto save. There is no auto save function for pictures received by iMessage I believe so assume this wouldn’t be an issue?
Is there anything else a user should check or change to ensure that messages do not reappear? Have suggested to user if they get a new phone or new Apple device that they dont restore from back up but concerned they may forget and then old messages that pre date when user turned back up off could reappear?
I’m also concerned about the family sharing function as I don’t know how this works. Please can anyone offer any comments / suggestions?
Many thanks

Yes.

All are correct.
Family Sharing doesn't affect Messages. Messages are tied to the Apple ID signed into Messages.
