I currently have a macbook pro 7.1 13 inch which I bought in 2010.  I need to replace the internal hard drive.  What do I buy???

You can look on sites like OWC for upgrade components that will work on your computer.

most 2.5" drives will do.  Since you are going to open it, you can also upgrade the memory as well.  I would highly recommend SSD - even the MacBook Pro is SATA 2, the current SATA 3 SSDs are backward compatible.  BTW, also exam the battery (by actual feel the track pad - to see if the battery swells plus battery cycle - also a good indication of need for replacing)
