Password iCloud not accepted ONLY on my iMac

Hi

I have a weird problem with iCloud: Password iCloud not accepted but ONLY on my iMac.

At first I thought that i had made some typo error, so I reset it. I got the usual message that it had been reset and could connect on all my other devices (iPhone, iPad, Macbook) but not on my iMac.

It obviously also works to access my account online.

On my iMac, I get the message " This action could not be completed, try again", but when I do so I have to go through the whole process again and reset my other devices.

To make sure that I did not have a keyboard problem, I typed my PW in Notes and just copied it into the System Preferences window.

I thought to try and suppress this account on my machine but am afraid to loose all my data as the warning message is not all that clear to me.
