Remove locations from Where list under Save As ...

I've dived back into the MacOS world this past year after a lengthy absence, and I have a possible basic question. When I perform a Save As in any application (I mainly use Office apps) and click on Where Dropdown to change the folder location, I have a plethora of locations that were past USB flash drive locations or temp drive names from installations. How do I remove names from that list? I am using a MacBook Pro under OS X El Capitan (10.11.6).
