iPad air 2 not recognizing existing Apple id

it is not accepting any of my personal information (security question) nor is it sending me any emails. When trying to set up new acct with same information, of course I can't use it because it already Exists. I'm using a work acct to ask this question.



Is this a brand new device? What is happening when you enter the ID?



Yes this is brand new. It keeps telling me that my password and or I'd name is incorrect. I've only used my Apple id for iTunes. I do not have any iPhones. This my first ipad



Are you absolutely sure that you are entering the same Apple ID that you used on iTunes? And that you are entering the same password correctly?



Yes. I have it written down as I buy music and it requires me to put in my information in order to buy. So I do have something physically to look at and I am watching the keys as I am entering them. I have done it several times



Reset your iPad and then try again.

 

Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

 

When you try again, go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores>Apple ID and enter your credentials there.



I Am actually in the setup process and adding the Apple id was one of the first steps. I will just skip this step and try ur settings suggestion

I used the very same password logging into this support community.  It was typed correctly and accepted when I had signed out and signed back into iTunes.
