Ipad 2  128gb problem

Hi all, I set my new ipad2 up from a back up of my old ipad. I am getting same problems as my old one had.

What I'm going to do is back up my ipad on itunes then wipe all content from it.

my question is -: can I take certain bits of data from my old back up and put it onto my "new" set up. eg-: apps, bookmarks etc

regards Graham

Restoration from a backup is either all or none. You do not have the option to pick and choose bits of backup data. If you find that you are experiencing the same problems with a new device as you did with an old device and you restored using a backup, then there is a problem with backup data, and identifying exactly what that is could be very difficult. Your best bet is to restore the device to factory and set it up as new. You can sync over your contacts, calendar and other data, depending on how you were originally managing it, such as iCloud, Google, or other service. Outlook is also an option if you were doing that.

Restoring a backup is all or nothing.

If you only want some things, rather than using a backup you can install apps via App Store > Updates > Purchased but note that will allow you to install the app without purchasing it again but will not restore any of your app data.

Some other things can be transferred by syncing from iCloud (e.g., Contacts, Photos, etc). See Settings > [username] > iCloud

Ok ChrisJ thanks very much for the quick reply. Very much appreciated

You're welcome.
