How can I easily view a single calendar?

I have 14 Calendars 'On My Mac' in my user account.  Sometimes, I just want to view one of them in month view.

I realize that I can uncheck all but one of the calendars shown in the side bar, but that is cumbersome.

I have heard that by enabling View/Tab Bar in the Calendar menu, I can then select one of the calendars by opening the windows menu and then selecting the the desired calendar from a list that is presented.  However, when I open the Windows menu, the only option given to open a calendar is "Calendar" .... my 14 calendars are not listed individually.

Thinking that 'On My Mac' might be a calendar group, and that maybe the Window menu only distinguishes between calendar groups, I created a separate group and put one of my calendars in that group.  But subsequent opening of the Window menu still only gives me 'Calendar' as an option for which window to display.

To add to the frustration, I have tried in vain to find out about the tab bar itself in the Apple help for Calendar, and I find nothing.   I Have also looked in these forums in vain for help on displaying a single calendar ... and aside from using the Windows menu as I described above (which doesn't work for me) or unchecking other calendars in the side bar (which is cumbersome), I can find no help on this subject.
