Wrong location for adding events in calendar

When I add new events in my calendar it automatically loads my stepmother's address where I stayed temporarily last summer for 3 months. How do I change this? I have checked my contacts and my home address is correct.

I am on a (not that I think this matters, but just in case):

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)

2.7 GHz Intel Core i5

8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3

Intel Iris Graphis 6100 1536 MB

Running: macOS Sierra, 10.12.6

Go to Contacts and select 'All Contacts' on the left nav bar and see if you have your contact name in contacts more than once. If so make sure the information is the same.

yes, I am in there twice, somehow with a you tube and gmail contact, but both addresses are the same (my home address).  I even checked on iCloud. It is still picking up my stepmother's address which I used as a temporary address last summer.

Read the articles : macOS Sierra: Set the date and time on your Mac

: Calendar (El Capitan): Add locations and travel info

Thank you, but neither of those apply to my problem. I need to change my starting location and it does not pick my contact home info; computer current location; and I don't have a work address. It is using a temporary location I used last summer.

Is your "My Card" correct in Contacts?

What does Maps show for your Current location?

Yes, it's correct and displays my correct location on maps. Thank you, I should have mentioned that I had checked that.

Open system preferences > iCloud > verify Find My Mac box is checked  and Back to My Mac should be unchecked , if you are using I cloud mail and any web mail , in both all settings , calendars , mails ...are they checked .

In security and privacy > location services > check the box enable location services is checked .

Also if you open calendar application have you deleted the the work accidentally .

For location services some articles : macOS Sierra: Manage which apps can use Location Services

All of those boxes are checked and/or unchecked as you mention. Still no luck. About the work calendar, I was meaning to say that I don't work, so I don't have a work address. Still in need of suggestions. Thank you for giving me more areas to check.

Generally the web mail address ( can be gmail or yahoo or any ) is kept same as Apple ID .

if you moved your system to another location ( can be different continent ) the machine will set to their location and after you come back to your place , you have to set the continent and correct location in system preferences > time zone .

Have you set your web mail address , you can create a work address in calendar by clicking on file > new calendar an untitled folder will be created , can name it .

The continent is correct, it does come up in maps as my correct address, it is just in the calendar when I add a new event and I try to calculate the travel time that it pull up the other address (which I can't change, which btw is in the same time zone, but is approximately 7.5 hours to the south of me), rendering that feature completely useless. I am not interested in having a work address, I am retired and do not need a work address or calendar. So thank you, but I think that is a little off topic for what I actually need, and I am sorry if I confused things by even mentioning the work issue.

Read this article : Calendar (El Capitan): View a different time zone

I don't know if you are understanding my problem, just the location is wrong, the time zone is the same. My address displays correctly on my contact card, my location for maps, just not for the starting location for new events in calendar. So this information about time zones has no basis as far as I can tell because my time zone is already the correct one. I certainly do appreciate the fact that you are coming up with ideas since it seems that no others have been forthcoming.

Did you shared the calendar with family members through i cloud or shared calendar publically or join a family  , some information would is required .

No, not shared, not joined any family, none of the above things.
