Apple Watch no longer auto

After upgrading to watchOS 4, I noticed my watch screen was brighter than normal, but that wasn’t anything to worry about. I thought it was part of the update, a slightly brighter screen to make things more readable. Well, here we are at 10pm, and my watch screen lights up like Indiana Jones in the Ark of the Covenant scene. I’m pretty sure the brightness level has stayed the same all day, but this is pretty annoying and also a drain on the battery. And it didn’t start until after I updated to watchOS 4.

Maybe it’s some sorta glitch with the new native flashlight that sets the brightness at max?

Oh, and to make things more complicated, adjusting the brightness does nothing. Turned it up, turned it down, it all just stays the same.
