It took too long for my 12W USA to charge my ne...

I just bought an iPad Pro 12.9 from Apple Store.  I went to charge the system with 50% battery left.  I used the charger that came with the box and let it over night (about 12 hours).  It shows only 58% charge.  Is the charger no good or I have to do same set up first?  Please advice. Thanks
