Unrecognized folder "/macOS

I'm seeing a new folder "/macOS_SDK" on my MacBook and I don't recognized where it's coming from.

It also has a broken alias "/macOS_SDK/Applications/XCode.app".

Does anyone have any idea where this folder might come from? I also called Apple Support and they said the folder it's definitely not them.

Looking through my Time Machine backups, I can confirm this folder was not there before. Perhaps it is homebrew related?

I've just used my other mac and it looks like the folder is being created by the recent macOS Sierra update.

Looking inside the folder I'm seeing: "/macOS_SDK/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/MacOSX.platform /Developer/SDKs" which contains a broken link `MacOSX10.13.sdk -> MacOSX.sdk`

Move the folder to the Trash, restart the computer, and see if everything is normal. If so, empty the Trash.

Well, I know how to delete a folder and restart my computer. I'm more interested in knowing where this folder is coming from, and if it's legitimately created by some piece of software, such as Xcode, homebrew, etc.
