MacBook Air with OS 10.12.6 losing audio, first...

Hi, my MacBookPro with OS 10.12.6 is losing audio. A few days ago I stopped being able to hear anything from the internal speakers (except the startup sound, which works fine), and they would not appear as an option in the Sound Preferences. But it still worked both with head phones and with the display audio of my Apple Thunderbolt display. As of today there is no longer any audio on the Thunderbolt either, so I am reduced to just head phones. I tried a lot of the fixes found on line, like plugging and unplugging the headphones many times (there is no red light that I can see), and reset of PRAM and SMC. But no luck.

Help!!!!
