iTunes v12.7.0.166 crashing on Windows 10

Hi all,

My PC informed me there was an update for iTunes yesterday, so I installed it (but did not restart my machine immediately, was working at the time). I shut down my machine completely before I went home.

This morning when I tried to load iTunes I kept getting the below error:

Capture.PNG

I did the normal troubleshooting tips by checking for missing files, removing my library, doing a repair and also completely uninstalling and re-installing iTunes. No joy.

iTunes did start up if I disconnected from the Internet and then opened it, but I doubt it is something with my connectivity since iCloud is working fine.

I am running a Dell Latitude E5580 Notebook with Win 10 x64 Enterprise and 16 GB RAM, Core i7 7600U on a Micron 512GB SSD.

iTunes has worked perfectly on this machine until recently.

No recent Windows updates were installed, the latest thing installed was the iTunes update.

Can anybody assist?

Thank you,

I'm having this same issue again. The problem appears to be the same handling of network proxies that causes a crash in javascriptcore.dll. This problem seems to reappear every time there is a new major update to iTunes - you would think they would finally remember "oops, maybe we need to check that to make sure it works this time."

See this link for reference:

Updated to iTunes 12.1, now iTunes crashes every time it attempts to access the internet through our internal proxy - ca…

Although the user in that post said uninstalling and reinstalling worked for them then, it doesn't for me and I had to go back to 12.6.2.
