I was added to a family sharing plan without pe...

Now I can't quit the plan or purchase any apps because it says I need to update my Family Plan cred card number. Why can't I just quit the plan right from my account settings page online? Why do I have to go through my iPhone, which doesn't work when I follow the directions? Why is this complicated?
