Apple Music download issue

I signed up for apple music the other day, yet the albums I have downloaded do not not end up on my MacBook pro. I have searched for the same albums and Apple wants me to pay for them. I understand this may be a stupid question, but it is one that Apple hasn't addressed for those how who haven't hadn't much experience with apple music. I can get songs on my iPhone perfectly but when I try to download them to my computer I get the full price as if I wasn't an apple music subscriber.
