Panic help please! Stuck on log in screen. Powe...

This is the log that briefly displays before the screen goes black and seems to restart. Then the same log in screen appears. This time at bottom of screen it says, if your having a problem entering your password ... start up in recovery os. I tried that as well. Attempted to “reset” my password, although I did not forget it. When attempting to log into iCloud account it says server error unable to contact server. On this screen it does show a WiFi signal top right and it is connected to network. I attempted starting up with “command v” and if I’m lucky enough to see this screen before the log in screen pops up, a few pages of logs appear. When it is finished, it does not allow me to type anything (writing does not appear on screen), then it shuts down again. I then tried holding the shift key down when start up and there’s no response. The log in screen pops up. Also tried command s when restarting and the computer does not seem to respond. The log in screen pops up again. If I try entering password it shuts down/restarts again. Been going at this for over an hour now. It’s driving me crazy. The computer does not have any unlicensed software or anything weird. I haven’t used this computer in about 2-3 weeks, because the battery died after using it to watch a movie after the power went out during Irma. Our power was not restored until a few days ago. Earlier I plugged the laptop in to charge it. Went back an hour later to use it and here we are. Please help!
