facetime on macbook keeps asking for password a...

There havent been any updates recently, I use my macbook pro to facetime with family really often. All of a sudden yesterday it kept asking me to sign in. I entered my apple ID and password over and over and eventually it said I was locked out. I then was sent on some 2 week long journey for "apple id recovery" when all I wanted was to reset my password! I've successfully reset it using my phone and it no longer says I have entered an incorrect password on facetime, it just simply doesnt do anything. I enter my user ID and passcode and then it thinks for a few seconds and returns me to the same thing prompting me to enter my password again. Other devices in the house are popping up saying my apple ID is being used to sign in a device near me. No **** Sherlock! Its me! On my own god **** computer that I use EVERYDAY!!!  Any suggestions?
