In some apps (such as Viber 6.7.0) all the words in a sentence (or most) are being randomly auto-capitalized as if they were the first word in a sentence.  This is extremely obnoxious and annoying and I haven't found any way to stop it.  Auto capitalizing the first word in a sentence is fine but doing it for every word or every other word is awful.

Can this be stopped?  It only happens in some apps.

Right click on the message box and make sure that the option "Correct spelling automatically" is unckecked.

It may be an application problem since the behavior is limited to certain applications. Go to System Preferences/Keyboard/Text and see if Capitalize words automatically is checked.

I also have this issue in Viber after the most recent update. Seems like they ****** something up.

Same problem here. You're not alone. Happened after the last Viber update. Very annoying.

I fixed it by downgrading to Viber 6.5.5

what helped? turning off the standard macOS features is not the deceision. I've sent the message to viber's support. They are working on that issue

I had this exact problem as well and followed Eric's suggestion of checking in the keyboard settings on my Mac and sure enough the setting to automatically capitalize words was on.

It may be that this is a setting that is normally on but never affected Viber until it's recent update thus changing the behaviour - but turning that off does seem to solve the problem in Viber.

I made a mistake, it's only in Viber and it's a bug in Viber.

It's a bug, but you can easily work around it without changing the general settings of MacOS. See my previous reply above.

Me too. Unchecked "Correct Spelling Automatically" and it stopped the problem. Thanks!

For me it was as easy as right click on the composition and click "Remove Style". That fixed it!
