Dark Screen

I have a 15" MacBook Pro, OS Sierra, and my screen is dark.  I use the key on the monitor  to brighten it,  but even at the brightest, it is too dark.  Any ideas?

Sorry, I went to preferences and found that for some reason, the brightness control was very low.  solved!
