Which memory slot is which in the graphic

I have an odd problem with a 2010 MacBook Pro. Both memory slots have DIMMS in them, but one isn't working. When I go to About This Mac/Memory, the graphic shows the left side with 4GB and the right side as empty. Does anyone know which side of the graphic represents the bottom DIMM and which represents the top? That would allow me to know which DIMM is bad or incorrectly installed since I don't have a memory tester.

1. Click "About This Mac" under the Apple logo in the menu.

2. Click "More Info"

3. Click "System Report"

4. Click "Memory" under the "Hardware" column.

5. Read the report to identify the riser(s) and corresponding DIMM(s). Note that empty slot(s) will show "Empty." Riser A is top, Riser B is bottom, and DIMMs 1,2,3,4 seat in slots going in numerical order, starting closest to the gold connectors on each riser.

Graphics does not take from just one of the modules; it's only showing one since one of the slots or modules is bad. To test out one RAM module at a time and one slot at a time, remove one of the modules and try running your Mac. If the issue is gone, then the other RAM module or slot is bad. If the issue persists, move the module to the other slot and trying running again. Repeat this process for the other module.  In this way you should be able to identify which module and/or slot is bad.
