ios 11 split screen does not work

Hi,

I downloaded iOS 11 and split screen stopped working completely.   Been looking up solutions on the web and people keep saying to drag an icon up from the dock to the side but that definitely is not the solution.  Has anybody else run into this?

I can no longer drag out split screen from the side like I used to in iOS 10.

I'm really disappointed Apple took this option away while claiming it is still there.  What a horrible update.  Wish I could get back to the previous version of iOS somehow.  Is there a way?  I use split screen often.

Why would they change a basic activity?  It's like moving all the letters around on a keyboard and then telling those of us who can touch type that it is a huge improvement.  It is not.

I also want to delete the update because my plug and play wont work with the new update

I may have had the same issue as you. Short version:  I discovered that I needed to “swipe” the vertical bar across, rather than “drag” it across.

Longer version: I got to the 75%/25% split fairly easily, by pulling apps up from the dock. But then I couldn’t get to 50/50. I kept putting my finger on the “separator bar”, and I simply couldn’t grab it. I just kept selecting one window/pane or the other. Instead I had to “swipe” the bar, in one gesture, touching the separator bar and moving it in the same gesture, rather than the two-step gesture I was previously doing, of grabbing it and then dragging it.
