Can I run OS X 10.7.5 on my new 2017 iMac from ...

My early 2011 MacBook Pro is now unusable because of a bad graphics card, but my 960GB SSD is fine. I plan to remove it and use it as an external drive with the new iMac. I'd like to run some of the older apps that were on that MBP with my new iMac. Is this even possible?

You can’t boot the new Mac from it; whether or not you’re able to run the applications on that drive depends on them.

You can boot to macOS on external drive, but there are limitations. See the following article for more information.

Thanks for the reply! I basically had the entire suite of Adobe Software, Microsoft Office and a whole slew of other programs. The main one I am really missing right now is Adobe Soundbooth CS5 for editing live concert recordings. I got really used to the functions and workflow of that program. I do have a copy of it on another external Thunderbolt drive, but when I try to run Soundbooth on the iMac it doesn't work. That's why I was hoping to run 10.7.5 from the old MBP SSD.

Is it possible to set up a virtual computer within the iMac to run 10.7.5?
