Why do I now have to babysit my podcasts

Why do I now have to babysit my podcasts?!?!  Why do I have to manually download all of my podcast? Why do I have to then manually go through each podcast to select them  individually to set to “play later “just to listen to it continuously? I likeed it when you could just hit play while not using cellular data, because in the olden days ( two days ago) my subscribed podcast would download automatically, then i hit “play”. I use podcast while I’m driving, doing the dishes, and gardening, and working, and it’s annoying to have to go to each new podcast episode to download it and play it. It takes a lot of forethought to figure out how I’m going to spend eight hours so that I can listen to all of my podcasts. I hope I’m wrong and that the setting is just an easy fix. Otherwise this is quite annoying.
