I have been having this problem almost since I first got the computer. The computer is very slow to start up, very slow to switch programs. I am not proficient Apple computer user, as I use a PC at work, and I thought maybe the slowness was inherent in the system. On a PC, I would think that there were too many items in the boot menu and would look for processes which are running, but I have so little understanding of how to do so here. I  have downloaded ETRECheck and run a diagnostic (the information above is from there, but I have not posted the full report). I am not sure how to proceed. I have not really performed any other steps, as I am quite apprehensive. My apologies for my lack of expertise, but, as I mentioned, my expertise is limited to PC's. Any advice anyone would like to share. (Even if that just points me to another thread) is very much appreciated. The community of users here is always astounding to me. The knowledge and generosity is overwhelming.

Please post the entire Etrecheck report.
