IPod Touch frozen only has a picture of iTune i...

iPod Touch frozen with the only thing appearing on screen is iTune logo with a charging cable and arrow pointing up to the logo.

I tried to reboot by pressing top button and home button at same time. I did get the Apple Logo for a second or two.

Then went back to the iTune logo and charging cable.

Every time iPod is connected to iTunes I get a drop down box which states iPod is in restore mode. I can't go any further on the laptop and must Ctrl Alt Delete to get out.
