I am trying to backup my new iPad for the first...

I plug in the USB to connect iPad Pro to my laptop... iTunes is open (just finished backing up my iPhone) and it gives me 2 options (the page that pops up is "Welcome to your new iPad")... 1) setup as a new iPad and 2) restore from this backup - my iPhone.  What does it do if I select setup as a new Pad?  Note my iPad Pro is about 6 months old I think.

Itunes does not display the new ipad so i cannot do anything

I cannpt get App Store to load on the new ipad.
