How can iOS apps be dowloaded to laptop for upd...

Prior to today's iTunes update (12.7.0.166) I used iTunes to download app updates once from the Internet to my laptop, and then rapidly update them on three different iOS devices locally from the laptop instead of having each device download them from the Internet.

This avoided inadvertently using up data from our limited cell data plan.  It also made reloading apps on a device that had to be restored fast as it could do so via the LAN instead of from the cloud.  There seems to be no way to do so now. Ideas?

With the Apple Server app, any iDevice on a network that would download

an app, would have it cached locally.   Also works with Mac App Store downloads

as well.

However, since apps are downloaded directly to a device now and Apple made

app trimming available to developers, not sure how useful that is now as some

apps may be unique for each different device.

Previously, when apps were downloaded from the App Store in iTunes,

they were "fat" apps that contained all data for all the different types of devices.
