Manually upload/sync photos to iCloud... automa...

Hello! So I have iCloud enabled on my devices as a backup, but I ALSO transfer all my photos & videos to my computer so I can edit them there.

The problem is that as soon as I take a photo or video, the item is instantly uploaded to the cloud and the actual file is no longer on my phone so I'm unable to transfer them without waiting for them to download again. (This is also an issue because even if I want to edit them on my phone, I have to wait for the videos to download and sometimes I'm no longer on Wi-Fi when I need to download)

Is there a way to keep iCloud on but decide when new photos upload? Or a way to schedule automatic backups?

I'm aware that I can download from iCloud.com but it takes so much longer to go through wi-fi/internet compared to physically plugging my phone to the computer.
